Carlton AFL players Will Hayward and Lachie Cowan were both taken to hospital after separate incidents, prompting the club to launch investigations into each case. Carlton will pass its findings to the AFL once the review is complete.

The AFL has sent Carlton an official please explain request over the matters. A potential punishment loophole is also being examined closely. Hayward's partner was reportedly away at a hen's party event when the house party incident involving him occurred. Senior figures at the club are said to be deeply angry about what happened.
