Verstappen Claims Sprint Win After Leader Russell Crashes

Max Verstappen took the Formula 1 sprint race at Marina Bay in Singapore on Saturday after race leader George Russell crashed out in wet conditions. Verstappen also claimed pole position for the main grand prix, capping a big day for the Red Bull driver.

A collision between Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll drew attention during the sprint. After his win, Verstappen told reporters F1 should scrap sprint events at circuits like Singapore, where overtaking is nearly impossible. The main race is set to take place Sunday.
